Lawrence Prange, Optician

Larry follows in his grandfather's and father's footsteps in the optical field. In fact, his parents met when his Mom went to have her eyes checked at Prange Optical (owned by Dr. William Prange) located at Western and North Avenues on Chicago's north side. There she met young Dr. Clarence Prange. The rest is history.

Larry is a respected optician throughout the optometric community, and is a mentor as well as an advisor for Ophthalmologists, Optometrists and Opticians.

Larry is a born and bred Chicagoan - he grew up on the west side of the City in the Austin neighborhood and attended DePaul University. While in college he started working with his Dad where he learned the basics of the trade. He so much loved helping people with their eye care needs that he has made it his life's work.

After Larry and his wife, Pat, were married in 1971 at Queen of All Saints, they moved into Sauganash where they have lived ever since. They consider themselves very lucky to have been able to raise their three children in Sauganash. Larry was involved with school and community activities, but especially enjoyed serving as Cub Master when his youngest was a scout.

Larry says he is fortunate to be "home" at Sauganash Family Eye Center and looks forward to helping his neighbors with their eye care needs.
